My name is Patricia Junqueira. I'm the owner of Tri-Life Training and an avid triathlete. I'm a Brazilian so I speak Portuguese, if you find any grammatical error please forgive me I'm still trying to improve my English. Also I'm not a writer and my goal with this blog are give some health tips for my clients / friends and share my athletic experiences with you.
We just started 2010 and usually we have some " New year resolutions". I have some new year resolutions but I prefer to have GOALS. Every beginning of the year I have some goals that I want to achieve. Goals in my personal, athletic, professional and health life.
For me, 2010 started in good style, I ran the Disney marathon, it was not my best time but it was very fun and VERY COLD FOR ME !!!! I've never been in 26 F in my life, my legs and butt froze....... but I finished happy the race, especially because I had a lot of clothes waiting for me in the finish line :-)
In the beginning of the year it is on TV ALL THE TIME about lose weight, magical diets...... I have several clients at Tri-Life Training who want to lose weight, my suggestions: Be regular with your train, increase the cardio exercises like walk, run, elliptical, bike..... and decrease starches like rice, bread, pasta and sugar, I know they are delicious but you will feel better when you start lose weight and feel thinner. Increase fruits, vegetable, yogurt. Spend a few minutes of your day planning and preparing your healthy food. Prepare some food for your kids and to you take to work. It takes time but in the end you will feel better, more healthy and with more energy.
